GSV Sports Captains' Breakfast

At the beginning of each year GSV invites the 2012 Sports Captains and other school sport leaders to attend a networking breakfast. Over 130 girls from the GSV schools gain inspiration from some of Australia's most successful sportswomen. In 2012 we are privileged to have Claire Mitchell-Taverner, member of the 2000 Sydney Olympics Gold Medal winning Hockeyroos team, and Olympic swimming hopeful Rachel Goh as our guest speakers.
GSV Annual Past and Current Students Golf Event
Tuesday, 21st February, 2012 at Huntingdale Golf Club
The annual GSV Golf Event will be held at the prestigious Huntingdale Golf Club. The competition is open to both current and former GSV students and will be conducted as an individual stroke play event over 9 holes. An official handicap is not necessary; however it is expected that players will have had previous golfing experience.

GSV Senior Basketball Tournament
Qualifying Series: 21st June, 2012 at Dandenong and MSAC
Final Series: 26th July, 2012 at MSAC
The GSV Senior Basketball Tournament runs over two days, with teams from two zones competing in a round robin series in Term 2. The winners from each zone qualify for the Finals Series held at the beginning of Third Term. The winner of the A Grade Final has the opportunity to represent GSV in the McDonalds Champion School of Victoria Tournament.
Year 7 Sports Expo

The Year 7 Sports Expo is a fantastic opportunity for Year 7 students to try their hand at a wide range of sports. Sports Development Officers from up to 20 different sports associations take the Year 7 girls through 50 minute sessions teaching them some basic skills in a selection of the sports.
The Year 7 Sports Expo showcases a wide range of sports, some of which are already part of the GSV program but many are not, including Calisthenics, Footbag, Baseball, Beach Tennis and Taekwondo to name a few.
The Expo is designed to encourage the girls to become involved in any type of sport or physical activity whether it be at a competitive or recreational level.
Year 8 Ball Skills Festival
14th November, 2012 at Monash University Sports Centre
Have a Ball at the Year 8 Ball Skills Festival!
The girls will get the chance to improve their ball skills over four 50 minute skills sessions with Sports Development Officers from a variety of balls sports including Cricket, Netball, Touch Football and Volleyball (to name just a few!).
The Year 8 Ball Skills Festival is designed to improve the girls' ball handling skills as well as their confidence and enjoyment of a range of ball sports.
GSV Golf Ambrose Event
20th November, 2012 at Green Acres Golf Club (Mel Ref 45 G1)
Can you think of a more relaxing way to celebrate the end of the school year than a friendly game of Golf?
The 9-hole Ambrose competition is designed for Golfers of all abilities and official handicaps are not necessary. Students can enter as a team of two.
